Shania Twains Musicalpläne mit Björn, mal sehen, ob das was wird....
Shania Twain will mit Hilfe von ABBAs Björn Ulvaeus an einem Musical arbeiten
Shania Twain würde gerne ein Musical auf der Grundlage ihrer Songs machen - und sie möchte, dass ABBAs Björn Ulvaeus bei dem Projekt mitmacht.
Der Country-Popstar kehrte letzten Monat mit ihrem sechsten Album "Queen of Me", das die Singles Waking Up Dreaming und Giddy Up! enthält, an die Spitze der britischen Charts zurück.
Kurz nach der Veröffentlichung sprach sie mit dem Take A Chance On Me-Hitmacher für seine 'Bjorn from ABBA and Friends'-Radioshow auf Apple Music Hits, in der die beiden über das Thema Musicals sprachen.
"Es gibt tatsächlich ein Interesse daran, ein Musical zu machen", sagte sie. "Ich möchte nur kurz sagen, wie sehr mich die Musik von ABBA inspiriert hat, indem sie mein ganzes Leben erweitert hat...
"Ich bin mit Drei-Akkord-Liedern aufgewachsen, sehr einfach, mit viel Geschichtenerzählen. Aber musikalisch gesehen, als ich ABBA hörte, dachte ich: 'Das ist ein anderer Planet von Arrangements. Und die Taktartwechsel gingen einfach an so viele unerwartete Orte."
Als Björn vorschlug, Shania solle ein Musical machen - ähnlich wie "Mamma Mia!" seiner Gruppe -, antwortete sie: "Ja. Nun, hör mal, ich werde wahrscheinlich etwas Hilfe brauchen. Du hast jetzt so viel Erfahrung, da muss ich dich vielleicht zurückrufen."
In einer Besprechung des Albums schrieb RETROPOP, dass der Country-Pop-Superstar "nach vorne drängt und weiterhin ein Vermächtnis zu ihren eigenen Bedingungen schafft, als eine erstklassige Autorin und Produzentin".
